Independence Day - Freedom from the Rat Race

The 4th of July - Indpendence Day. This day commemorates the day that the United States gained it's freedom from Great Britain some 232 years ago on July 4th, 1776. After a day of wonderful food and fellowship, my friends - which are also my business parters - and I decided that it would be a great time to play Robert Kiyosaki's "Cashflow Quadrant 101" as a commemoration not only of our independence as a nation, but also in commemoration of the true liberties that we have as Americans.

If you have never played "Cashflow Quadrant" and you are serious about achieving financial freedom and wealth, I strongly suggest that you play. This is a game that tests your financial IQ in ways that no other games have (Robert Kiyosaki also has a more advanced game called "Cashflow 202".)

In the game, ever player gets to pick a rat and a piece of cheese. The rat represents you as an employee that is trapped in the "Rat Race" and your piece of cheese represents your dream. Each player gets to pick his color rat and cheese and what dream they hope to achieve once they've exited the rat race.

There are many lessons to be learned while playing this game such as the importance of building assets as opposed to just increasing your cashflow. Additionally, this is a contest that forces you to focus on the big picture, which is financial freedom first, wealth second. Regardless of how "good" your income is, if you are still dependent on your paycheck to make a living, you are caught in the rat race. In order to achieve financial freedom, each player must build their passive income to the point that it surpasses his or her expenses. Once your passive income surpasses your expenses, you escape the rat race and are able to start building wealth towards your "cheese", or your dream.

What is interesting at this point is that you literally move in a different direction from those who are still trapped in the "Rat Race". My mentor, who was also playing with us, always teaches that if you want to be successful, look at what everyone else is doing and do the opposite. This game teaches just that! Those who are still trapped literally move in a circle, existing from paycheck to paycheck. It is not until you understand the importance of increasing your assets and decreasing your liabilities that you are able to escape corporate America, live financially free and remove yourself from the humdrum life of merely existing and depending on next week's pay.

The United States of America is known as "The Land of Opportunity". Yet, as Americans, the majority of us refuse to take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to us on a daily basis. I felt an extreme amount of relief when I was the first one to escape the rat race and earn my piece of cheese. It felt, symbolically, like the greatest sigh of relief that I've ever had. Fortunately for me, I did not pass on the opportunity to escape the corporate rat race in my real life. I was presented with an opportunity, through the network marketing industry, to achieve freedom in my life and I took it.

America is becoming more and more separated between the classes. The middle class is rapidly disappearing. Soon, it will be the rich and the poor - the have's and the have nots. If you want to be free, learn the rules of the rich. Remember P.O.O.R people pass over opportunities repeatedly. If you want to be successful, mimic the game "Cashflow Quadrant". Look at what most people are doing and move in an opposite direction!

Lightyear Alliance Top Money Earner Cruise 2008

The cruise was absolutely fantastic! We explored some beautiful landscapes, swam with some stunning fish over some magnificent coral and ate some mouth-watering foods. With all of this, the most exciting and memorable things were the people that we shared this experience with. We all come from different backgrounds, different cultures and have different stories, but we all want the same things.

We want to have the freedom to do what we want to do, when we want to do it, how we want to do it and with whom we want to do it with. The only industry in the world that provides this type of lifestyle to the non-athlete and non-entertainer is network marketing. Sure, the oceanic landscapes were captivating; the size of the boat was breathtaking; the food was delicious. My Very First Cruise - Bahamas, Here We Come!

WOW! I am so excited. I don't know if I am more excited about going on a cruise for the first time, what the cruise represents or being with the other Top Money Earners of Lightyear Alliance! Who would have thought that little old me - a former teacher with NO prior network marketing experience - would be going on a FREE CRUISE as a TOP MONEY EARNER with Lightyear Alliance not even 2 years into the business.

This business is about far more than just the money that can be made. It's about the opportunity to have a lifestyle that most people only dream about. I have never been so excited about the launch of anything in my entire life! How many people do you know who DON'T own a cell phone? Exactly! Probably everyone you know who is at least 8 years old owns a cell phone! Yet, not one person you know out of the 255 Million subscribers receives residual income on these wireless services!

YTB? Traverus? No - Lightyear Alliance!

Let me inform you on something that you may not know about Lightyear Alliance. We are able to profit from the trillion dollar travel industry as well! Both YTB and Traverus are wonderful companies, but why are they fighting with each other over who's better? I have had friends in both companies trying to recruit me for their opportunities, but I respectfully decline because I am 100% satisfied with Lightyear Alliance because I believe it is the greatest opportunity in the world (for me)!

Let's look at all three from a logical standpoint. YTB has been in business for 7 years, has over 136,000 representatives and is powered by Travelocity's online travel engine. As far as the enrollment and the marketing system, the one-time fee is $500 and the agent website is $49.95. The biggest deal is the residual payout. For YTB's web system, the payout is $2/mo. Now, my job is not to analyze the compensation plan because I don't benefit from it, so it will do my no good to know it in and out. This purely for a skeletal comparison.

Now for Traverus. This company has been around for 26 years as a travel agency with 1 year in network marketing. It's one-time enrollment fee is $199 or $99 (I've seen sites with different prices. I don't think a lot of them know what they are talking about!). They, too, are backed by Travelocity's online travel engine. Their web system, like YTB is $49.95 but pays more on the residual side. With Traverus, you can earn from $5 to $15/mo per rep. That's great!

From what I understand from reading and listening to individuals involved in Traverus, their "selling point" over YTB is the fact that with Traverus, you get international territory with all suppliers and YTB is limited for whatever reason. Also, with YTB, you have to pay an additional $150 for RTA credentials or something to that effect, whatever THAT means! Both companies travel "commissions" are commissions that are paid on the commissions that the company receives. So, if you are looking at an "online travel agency", you do NOT receive a commission on the travel package. You receive a commission on the commission that your company receives, which means you really only make money on vacation/cruise packages.

Where does Lightyear Alliance fit into all of this? Well, as of April, Lightyear offered its representatives an online travel portal as well. Take a look at this. The one-time enrollment for Lightyear is $199, $399 and for a limited time, a platinum package (you actually SKIP the first level!) for $499! Our web system consists of 5 separate websites (1 site for Travel that is powered by Travelocity as well, 1 for Organic Energy Drinks, 1 for the marketing system, 1 for products and 1 for the representatives to communicate with each other) as well as 4 lead capture pages, an auto-responder system and contact manager for the same $49.95 as YTB and Traverus. We, too, get commissions on the commissions that the company gets, but our residual for the web system is $3 to $18/mo per representative. This is in ADDITION to the 10% we receive on personal customers on the necessity-based telecommunications side, the 4% though 8 compressed levels on the telecommunications side, the $1 for our very own "Extraordinaire Magazine", the $0.50/case for our very own organic energy drink. WOW!

As mentioned, both of those companies are great companies, but Lightyear takes the best of the travel industry and combines it with necessity-based products and a compensation plan that is unparalleled in the network marketing industry. To add gas to the fire, starting on July 18th, we will also be the ONLY company in network marketing - period - to pay residual income on wireless services. Travel is great, but even travel agents need cell phones!

By the way, the company is sending me on a cruise for the week of June 23 on Royal Caribbean. Guess what? I had to supply my own transportation to Miami, Florida so I booked my tickets through my very own travel portal. Lightyear Alliance - Empowering people's lives by showing them a better way!

The great gift of God to His human creation is the power of choice. As humans, it is the one thing that separates us from the animal world. The ability to choose is known in the literary world as "volition". Volition is the act of making a choice or decision or the power of choosing and determining.

Throughout our daily lives we are faced with multiple instantaneous decisions that are subconsciously make to dictate which direction our life will take. Whether we want to admit it or not, each of these decisions, make in an instant, have an effect on our destination. Focusing on a larger scale, we must ask ourselves what decisions have we made to lead us to our current place in life. Have we arrived at a destination in life that we want to be in, or is there the slightest chance that we have made some poor decisions? Think about it. What decisions, if given the opportunity, would we change in our past? Of course, it is not possible to undo the decisions that were made, we can reflect on where we are in life and the choices that we have made. In doing this, we would realize that while we have made some wise decisions of life, there are some decisions, knowing what we know now, that would have been altered so that our present would not be as it is today. However, there is good news!

With the arrival of each day, there is a chance to change our future destination. Our volition, as mentioned earlier, grants us the authority to dictate, at least to some extent, our future. The key is recognizing what we want our future to be. If your present is not the future that you imagined in your past, what decisions, or choices, do you need to make today to dictate a better tomorrow? Remember, if you continue to do what you have always done, you will continue to get what you have always gotten. It is insane to think that we can continue to make the same choices, yet arrive at a different lot in life. Most of us would say that we want the finer things in life for ourselves and or our families. However, we must begin to make different choices if we want different results. Your decisions will determine your actions and your actions will ultimately determine your results, or your destination.

This is your assignment. Determine what you want your future to be like. Sit down, meditate and plan it! When you have outlined how you want your life to be, you will have your destination in mind. Once this has been accomplished, you will have the volition - the ability to choose wisely. If you are faced with a decision that will not lead you in the direction of your future, it will behoove you to choose an alternative. Are you willing to delay your future for the instant gratification of today? What are you willing to do what others won't today so you can live like others can't tomorrow? Choose your future over your past. Each day is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

Opportunity Meetings

Even though this is the age of technology where you can actually build your business totally online, we still have regularly scheduled "Opportunity Meetings", business presentation or BP's as we like to call them. Tonight we had one of the most exciting opportunity meetings I've ever been to. My brother was actually the presenter this evening and he did an absolutely phenomenal presentation. I generally like to pay attention to the guests and take note of their reaction throughout the overview.

If you have never been, what we basically do is present information about what is going on in the market as far as the economy is concerned and how those who are the working middle-class (more like the working P.O.O.R.!) will have it worse than anyone with the rising gas prices and declining corporate structure. Despite all of this, people are still skeptical! It's actually funny to me now because I used to be the same way, which is what tickles me so much. Despite the fact that people are steadily losing jobs left and right, the majority of those who look into starting a home-based business in the network marketing industry still believe that these things do not work!

Let me ask you a question. When is the last time someone you know personally attended college, graduated and got a job in the field they went to school for and in a span of 10 years achieved financial freedom? I have yet to see it happen! Yet, I know hundreds of people who started a business in network marketing and with less than it costs to receive a 4-year degree and within 10 years are living lifestyles beyond the average American's wildest dreams. And people say network marketing is a scam!

I just thought I would release for a minute. I had an active day and I am very tired. Besides, I plan on playing golf tomorrow while the rest of the city gets up to go to work...

My Story Prior to Network Marketing

I have been in network marketing for what will be 2 years on July 15, 2008. Unlike many successful networkers in the industry, this is my first run. Prior to getting involved with Lightyear Alliance, I was one of the most skeptical and negative people you could possibly talk to about the industry. As far as I was concerned, I thought network marketing was a pyramid. "Those things are scams! The only people who make the money are the people at the top!" That is what I would always say. Hindsight being 20/20, I know now that some people have to experience life before they could truly understand the true power of an industry like network marketing.

Like most of America, I was taught to go to school and get good grades so I could get a good job. I was good at following directions, so I followed that formula exactly! My results: I accumulated $60K in student loans and that provided me with a $45K/year salary, which means I was a professionally broke! It took me 7 years to realize that corporate America was the true pyramid. No matter how hard I worked, I would NEVER be paid what I was worth and I could never surpass the income of my boss.

After a few life-altering trials and some serious gut-checks, I realized that if I wanted different results for my life, I had to do different things! I was open to alternative ways of earning income because what I was doing definitely wasn't working. Fortunately for me, a person who is very dear to me thought enough about me and my future to invite me to take a look at an opportunity that could change my life. On July 15, 2006 I walked into the land of the living, never to be controlled by time or money again!

I was blessed with the opportunity to learn from a mentor who is successful not only financially, but in every area of his life. That is what I wanted, and everyone I knew prior was too busy working just to get by!

One of the first lessons he taught me was that getting rich is easier that working for a living. All you have to do is look at what most people do and do the opposite. There is no competition because most people aren't even trying to get rich, and not just financially, but in every area of their life. They too busy being broke and blaming everyone but themselves.

If you want to be successful, you must start with a change in your philosophy. I am grateful that my mentor instilled in me the power of personal growth and self-development. I learned that if I worked hard on my business, I could make a living. However, if I worked harder on myself, I could make a fortune! So, that is my lifelong profession - constant improvement on the one thing that dictates my income and my life - ME!
